Mirage to Floe transition

I decided to download Floe yesterday. I already have the following Mirage libraries installed:- Slow, Phoenix, Terracotta and Squeaky Gate. I was encouraged to make the transition to Floe because of statements on the website that state something to the effect of ‘ (a) Floe automatically detects existing Mirage installations… and (b) all your Mirage libraries and presets work immediately in Floe - no reinstallation needed. Floe automatically finds and loads your existing content.’ But I also noticed somewhere that it is necessary to download the Mirage Compatibility Package for those of us with these existing Mirage libraries.
Floe seemed to install quite smoothly in my DAW which is Reaper. However it appears to be remarkably empty of any libraries when I open it up unless I am not looking in the correct place for them….but I was led to believe that the Mirage libraries would be automatically detected! So obviously the Mirage Compatibility package may be the answer to this conundrum. However I can’t see much in the way of instruction upon what to do with this Compatibility package. I have downloaded it…..but please please please someone tell me what to with it next!!!

Ok sounds like something isn’t quite right. Let’s have an investigate. Can you open Floe and click on the gear icon at the top to open the Preferences, and then the Folders tab. On that Folders page, does it show extra folders on there for Mirage? Are you on Windows or Mac?

Even without the Mirage Compatibility package you would expect to see libraries.

Thanks for the reply Sam. Things now appear to be ok I’m pleased to say. I opened the Folders tab in Floe as you suggested. The default locations indicated in Floe for the presets and sample libraries had nothing in them. When I originally installed Mirage and then the subsequent libraries these appeared to be installed by default to a different default location i.e. ThisPC/Documents/Frozen Plain/Mirage/Libraries.
But when I pressed the ‘Add Folder’ button and pointed Floe towards this already existing Mirage file location everything got sorted quite rapidly and all the Mirage libraries and presets now show up in Floe. A big relief!

….I forgot to mention in the reply above that I did get prompted to install the Mirage Compatibility package which I did and which obviously was instrumental in getting things to transition over quite smoothly without too much further intervention on my part.

Excellent! I added the missing information about the Mirage Compatibility to our support pages. And will take a look to why Floe might not find Mirage folders automatically.
