5/5. Damn good library for being a free one.
I was looking around for a good music box to play around with and put to good use when I honed in on this.
This VST came with ten Kontakt instruments, and around 7 or 8 of them sounded really good to my taste (I would not be surprised in the least if the Ominous version was used in a cinematic horror trailer). In addition to that, and the four RR's and multiple velocities per note, each instrument can have the sounds altered in a variety of ways with sound presets, adding an additional layer of sound to it.
The sounds can easily be tweaked with randomizing, delay, distortion, reverb, rotator, 2-band EQ, and attack/release. It can be FURTHER tweaked by going into edit mode in Kontakt and making additional adjustments there.
In all honesty, this is probably one of the best free VSTs I've found online. I'll be checking out some of Frozenplain's other instruments to see what they've got if they can release an instrument this good for free.
